PDO Rosé Wine
Learn more
Our PDO rosé wine is an excellent compromise between our Virant Estate IGP and our Inspiration rosé wine. This wine will seduce you with its smooth taste and fruity aromas.
Its light pink color with peony reflections invites discovery. More than just a beautiful appearance, a PDO Château Virant wine also promises a high quality product to satisfy all palates. At Château Virant, we are committed to pleasing all of our customers.
This rosé is assembled from Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet and Cinsault grape varieties. This fresh wine is vinified by direct pressing, cold stalling, and fermentation at 12 °C.
Our land, our special grape varieties, and our artisanal winemaking methods all give balance to our PDO rosé wine. In this distinct wine, you will find aromas of red fruits and notes of candy, characteristics exclusive to this vintage.
Pairings
Our PDO rosé can be enjoyed as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salads, light meals, and grilled dishes.
Tasting advice
This wine is best enjoyed chilled. For an optimal tasting experience, we suggest that you hold the wine glass by its stem so as not to warm the contents with your hands.
Environmental distinction
Château Virant has an HVE 3 certification issued by the French government. This distinguished label is only obtained after having reached the highest level of environmental certification for farms. This label signifies sustainable production and practices with careful management of natural resources.
Awards
In 2014, our PDO rosé won the bronze medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris.
The CGA competition allows farmers to position themselves in relation to their colleagues on the same appellation. Château Virant with its wines and olive oils, each year wins medals in this competition, which makes it one of the most awarded estates in France.
In 2019, this rosé also obtained a silver medal at the Mondial du Rosé.
The Mondial du Rosé competition, organized by the oenologists of France, allows rosé wines from all over the world to compete against one another. It is a competition mainly intended for catering and wine professionals that assess the quality of the wines of an estate on an international scale.
Finally, our PDO rosé regularly wins medals in the Aix-en Provence competitions. In 2014, 2018 and 2019, it won a silver medal, and in 2015, 2016 and 2020, it won a gold medal.
The Aix-en-Provence competition recognizes the best wines of the Aix-en-Provence PDO category. It is a competition of producers whose wines are judged by the professionals in the industry. Winning in this category identifies our rosé wine as one of the most highly awarded rosé wines in the region. Château Virant, with its numerous wines, is a frequent winner in this competition.
