Gray Rosé Wine
Learn more
An excellent fruity wine, this pale rosé is crafted through mastery of the stages of vinification and fermentation temperatures. Often copied but rarely equaled, you can rest assured that the gray rosé from Château Virant is a sure bet for those who love the pleasures of a clear, fruity, and light rosé.
To produce this select wine, our cellar master carries out a delicate vinification by direct cold pressing. The fermentation of the juices at 14°C gives this wine its bright, clear color. It presents on the nose a lively, slightly sweet palate with aromas of yellow fruits, pear, coconut, and vanilla.
Our gray rosé was developed in response to customer demand for a fine and fruity rosé to compliment aperitifs. Today, this wine is recognized throughout the region as one of the flagship products of our estate.
Pairings
A perfect accompaniment to traditional Provençal aperitifs, this wine will also be appreciated with any dish served cold, from salads to carpaccios to sushi.
Tasting advice
The freshness of this wine will be best enhanced if served chilled at 12 °C in frozen glasses.
Environmental distinction
Château Virant has an HVE 3 certification issued by the French government. This distinguished label is only obtained after having reached the highest level of environmental certification for farms. This label signifies sustainable production and practices with careful management of natural resources.
Awards
In 2017, our gray rosé won a gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris, and in 2016 it won the silver medal.
The Concours Général Agricole allows farmers across France to compete against their peers in select categories. Year after year, Château Virant continues to medal with its wines and its olive oils, making it one of the most awarded estates in all of France.
In addition, the Château Virant gray rosé regularly wins medals in Aix-en-Provence competitions. In 2015, 2018, and 2020 it won a gold medal, and in 2016 and 2019, it won a silver medal.
The Aix-en-Provence competition recognizes the best wines of the Aix-en-Provence PDO category. It is a competition of producers whose wines are judged by the professionals in the industry. Winning in this category identifies our Château Virant gray rosé as one of the most highly awarded rosé wines in the region.
